KAMPALA (Uganda) – Soraya Mohamed (Egypt) was named MVP of the FIBA 3×3 Africa Cup 2019 in Kampala, Uganda on November 8-10.
The 24-year-old finished as the top scorer of the event with 48 points, including 8 in the final against 2-time Africa Cup winners Mali. She buried an unbelievable step-back 2 with 15 seconds to go to ice the game. Soraya led a team without substitute (just 3 players) to their first-ever gold medal in the 3×3 women’s category.
She was joined on the team of the tournament by Mali’s top scorer Aïssata Maiga and Ritah Imanishimwe, who led the Ugandan hosts to bronze.
