N’Faly Dante, Oregon men’s basketball top UC Riverside

EUGENE — Oregon’s core of returning players from last season’s Sweet 16 roster took over down the stretch to ensure the Ducks weren’t the second Pac-12 team to be upset by UC Riverside.
Will Richardson, Eric Williams Jr. and N’Faly Dante combined for 21 of Oregon’s 29 points in the second half to fuel a 71-65 Ducks win over the Highlanders at Matthew Knight Arena Wednesday night.
Richardson (7 of 12) had 17 points and five assists, Dante had 12 points and five rebounds and Williams had 11 points and eight rebounds for Oregon (5-3), which won its second game in three nights and fourth straight home game to open the season thanks to defense and rebounding over the final five minutes.
