The ASC Ville de Dakar champions Senegal in 2021! The municipal club beat the Dakar University Club (71-68) this Sunday in the final of the women’s championship. A close meeting until the end.
Senegalese champion, Adama Coulibaly was honored with the MVP and top scorer trophy in the playoff final won by ASC Ville de Dakar at the expense of DUC. Author of 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 interception, the Malian international brought his team to success especially in the second half where it was more decisive.
The first quarter was to the advantage of the DUC, who started well today, responding outright to the onslaught of the ASCVD (13-11). But the players of the feature broke away at the start of the second quarter, adopting a pressing on the students who were accumulating ball losses. The latter rebelled before the break, thanks to an excellent Khadija Maïga, to return to the front at the break (33-31).
In the 3rd quarter, the game was fairly balanced at the start, but Ville de Dakar widened the gap over the minutes to have a lead of 7 points (55-48). But the duchesses did not want to abdicate and showed it in the last ten minutes by returning to City of Dakar. With Kadidia Maïga, Julie Dacosta and Ndeye Maty Mbaye, they came back up to the ASCVD in the money-time (66-65), but for lack of lucidity in the last moments, they saw the opponent start again at 3 points. A gap that will never be caught up. Final score: 71-68.
