Led by Mahamadou Diawara (16pts), Stetson loses the wire against Florida Golf (64-63)

FORT MYERS, Fla .– Mahamadou Diawara had 16 points for the Hatters (4-9, 2-5), whose losing streak extended to four games.
A trio of free throws put the Eagles in the lead in the last minute of play and Stetson (4-9, 2-5 ASUN) missed a pair of three-point attempts in the final six seconds of regulation. The FGCU men’s basketball team (7-5, 2-3 ASUN) stood for a 64-63 win on Friday night at the Alico Arena. The Hatters’ last attempt came 0.8 seconds from time but hit the back ledge giving the Greens and Blues their second win in the last three games.
Stetson was led by Mahamadou Diawara who scored 16 points, while Rob Perry had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Chase Johnston added 12 points and Christiaan Jones scored 11 points.
