Mali: Triumphal welcome for Niang, new president of FIBA

The new president of , has crossed the soil of at 14:05 on the Air France flight on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the international airport president Modibo Keita.

When the plane landed, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Arouna Modibo Toure, was waiting for him in the VIP lounge at Bamako airport. After a short exchange, the two personalities went out to greet a crowd made up of the family of the president, his former collaborators and other sympathizers.

Always accompanied by the minister, the first head of world basketball went to meet the thousands of fans who had made the trip to cheer him.

Niang then made a statement to the press:

“I am very happy with the warm welcome I received from my modest person. I pay tribute to the world of basketball and I thank all the people of Mali. I also greet the President of the Republic, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, Dr. Boubou Cisse the head of government and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Arouna Modibo Toure for their unfailing support “. I will not be able to finish without being so grateful to Fiba Africa and the Malian press who helped me a lot in this campaign.”
