Alima Dembele (Mali, 2000), signed up for CD Promete for two seasons. The young player, who can progress to the positions of winger and strong winger, is making the jump to the Women’s League of Endesa after being one of the sensations of Women’s League 2 last season.
In the 2019-2020 season, she started playing at Magec Tías and finished it at Ausarta Barakaldo. Last season, she played Adavera Basketball, with stats of 21.5 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 33 minutes per game. She recently competed in Afrobasket with the Mali national team, getting 4.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game and a very commendable second place.
Cesar Aneas said that “Alima is a young player with a great physique who comes in to help both in the front position and in the inside positions.” The coach was “very happy with this incorporation and convinced that she will be in a club conducive to the development of her sporting talent during these two seasons”.
David Martin, general manager of the club, explained that Alima Dembele is “a bet for the present and the future that comes to Logroño to grow with us and which stands out for its strength and aggressiveness on the pitch”.
