Gigantes magazine rewards young Aminata Sangare

Gigantes magazine celebrated the 33 Gigantes Basket Awards gala on Monday. An act in which he awarded the “Generation Z” of Casademont Zaragoza and the young player of the women’s team Aminata Sangare. Due to the sanitary conditions, this delivery had a mixed staging, both virtually, as well as with a set installed at the WiZink Center in Madrid.
On behalf of Casademont Zaragoza, Pep Cargol thanked the Gigantes Junior Award for Career Work, for the work that the club has developed with “Generation Z”. Cargol stressed that this work means “identity, commitment, capacity for work and a desire to develop talents in order to nurture our first team in the future”, he defined. The sporting director revealed that it was President Reynaldo Benito “who promoted this idea of working as ‘Generation Z’, to identify a way of working in which we believe and is one of the characteristics of Casademont Zaragoza” , he explained.
In addition to Pep Cargol, several members of this brilliant group of players explained in a video what it means in their respective careers to be a member of this generation of Aragonese talents. For Javi García “it’s a way of understanding basketball in Aragon which represents values that we have been able to represent”, he commented. From Oklahoma, Vit Krejci said that “When I chose Zaragoza at the age of 13, I didn’t know I had chosen one of the best careers in Spain. It helped me grow as a player and as a person, thanks to the club, their coaches and my teammates with whom I was able to be ”.
For his part, Jaime Fernández explained that “‘Generation Z’ is the way to reach the elite, to realize our dream and to acquire the values that we have introduced into our private lives.” Finally, Carlos Alocén underlined that belonging to this group of players formed in the heart of Aragon “means everything to me, that not to stop fighting, never to give up, to play as a team, to trust your teammates.”
Aminata Sangare, prize for the greatest progression
During this gala, the player of the Aragonese club Aminata Sangare received the Junior Giant award for the greatest progression. In his speech, Ami recalled his beginnings: “Thank you to my aunt. She didn’t want me to be home without playing sports and took me to a center to learn basketball. Despite his inexperience, his progress led him to be called up to the lower ranks of the Mali national team. “I was lucky to be able to come to Spain, to Torrelodones where I lived with a family who helped me in everything and in a school where I learned Spanish,” she recalls. Now she lives in Zaragoza “in a high level team, with great players, I know what it is and I will work hard to continue to the top”, pursuing the dream of “playing a jo in the WNBA” .
