Hard blow for the Philadelphia 76ers. Pivot Joel Embiid, hit in the left foot on Saturday night in his team's 112-109 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, is expected to miss the next two games against Brooklyn on Tuesday and against Charlotte on Wednesday. His injury will then be reassessed.
This season, Joel Embiid is averaging 32.3 points, 10.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. The five-time All-star won the NBA's leading scorer title last season with 30.6 points per game.
Philadelphia, currently 8th in the Eastern Conference with a perfectly balanced record of 8 wins and 8 losses, is already without star guard james harden, injured in the right foot, and Tyrese Maxey, who suffered a broken left foot.
