Bertram Derthona has announced that they have reached an agreement until June 2026 with Lamine Tandia, a center who arrived in Tortona in 2022, and will be part of the first team squad.
Born in 2004, Lamine arrived in Italy in Jesi, where he played at both the junior and senior levels. In 2021/22, he was a protagonist both with Cab Aurora Jesi, playing in Serie C Silver (10.2 points per game), and with the Under 19 Eccellenza team, where he scored 13 points per game.
During the same season, he participated in the Varese stage of the Adidas Next Gen Tournament, the EuroLeague youth tournament, wearing the EA7 Emporio jersey. In four games, he averaged 4 points and 6.5 rebounds. With the VL Carpegna Prosicutto Pesaro jersey, he also participated in the IBSA Next Gen Cup 2022 of Legabasket, finishing the competition with an average of 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
In 2022/23, he joined Bertram Derthona, playing with both the Under 19 Eccellenza and the C Gold, formed by the same group of players. At the senior level, he contributed to the promotion to Serie B Interregionale, while with the junior team, he reached the semi-finals of the IBSA Next Gen Cup 2023. Now, Tandia is preparing to start his second season in Tortona.
“Tandia is a young man who has already made himself appreciated on and off the field in his first season in Tortona – the words of Marco Picchi, president of Bertram Derthona -. Our club pays special attention to young players from the junior sector who can be part of the first team squad: we believe that this experience can be really useful for Lamine's growth.”
