EDISON, NJ – Saint Peter’s men’s basketball freshman forward Fousseyni Drame, has claimed his second Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Pepsi Zero Rookie of the Week award of the season, announced by the league office today. The honor is the sixth total for the program this season.
Drame led the first-place Peacocks in scoring this week after averaging a team-high 12.0 points per game and was second on the team with his 5.0 rebounds per game average. On Friday at Marist, he tallied a team-high 15 points and team-leading three steals, while also accounting for four rebounds and one block. In Sunday’s win at Monmouth, Drame chipped in with nine points and grabbed six rebounds. He connected on 66.7 percent of his field goals and 40 percent of his three-pointers in the two games during the week.
Fousseyni Drame named @MAACHoops Pepsi Zero Rookie of the Week.
Make that ✌️ ROW awards for Fousseyni (matching his brother) and a #MAACHoops leading 6️⃣th overall ROW for the Peacocks!

F. Drame garners his second 2019-20 MAAC Pepsi Zero Rookie of the Week honor, joining his twin brother Hassan Drame as two-time winners of the award. The Drame brothers, combined with classmates Daryl Banks III and Aaron Estrada give Saint Peter’s a MAAC leading six rookie of the week awards, and the team’s six total weekly awards only trail Canisius’ seven total weekly awards on the year (two players of the week and five rookies of the week).
Drame and the first-place Peacocks are back home this weekend, hosting Quinnipiac (Feb. 14) and Fairfield (Feb. 16).
