KIGALI (Rwanda) – The official draw for the FIBA U16 Women’s African Championship 2019 took place on Saturday, July 27, in the Rwandan capital city of Kigali.
The results of the draw are as follows:
Group A: 1.Rwanda, 2.Angola, 3.Tanzania, 4.Mozambique
Group B: 1.Mali, 2.Egypt, 3.Uganda, 4.South Africa
The competition is set to tip off on July 28 at the Amahoro Indoor Arena in the Kigali sports hub of Remera and it serves as a qualifier for the FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2020.
The first phase in each of the two groups will consist of a tournament played in a round-robin format.
The Final Phase will be played in a knockout format (Quarter-Finals, Semi-Final and Final).
The Third-Place Game and the Final will be played on the last day of the tournament (August 3).
