DeMarcus Cousins, the Golden State Warriors’ pivot, injured Monday against the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA playoffs, suffered a tear in the quadriceps of the left thigh that could force him to end his season, according to several media reports US.
The Warriors, beaten 135-131 by the Clippers, however did not specify the duration of the unavailability of Cousins, 28, who had to leave the field Monday in the first quarter, calling it simply “indeterminate in a statement.
“Cousins will immediately begin a protocol of care and news about his health will be communicated in due course,” said the Wariors.
On Monday, Steve Kerr, the Warriors ‘coach, felt that Cousins’ injury was “serious” and would be unavailable for a while.
The Clippers and Warriors are tied 1-1 before Game 3 on Thursday in Los Angeles.
