FIBA U19 World Cup 2021: Mali in Group D with USA, Turkey and Australia

BERLIN (Germany) – The groups for this summer’s FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2021 were confirmed at Wednesday’s draw ceremony, with participating countries discovering their opponents.
In the 15th edition of the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2021, which will take place in the cities of Riga and Daugavpils from July 3 to 11, teams were divided into four groups of four teams each. Hosts Latvia were drawn in Group B with Serbia, Iran and Puerto Rico.

The draw was livestreamed on FIBA’s YouTube channel, along with the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2021 draw.
Eight different countries have won the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup since its inception in 1979, with the reigning champions USA leading the field with seven titles. The USA won the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2019 in Crete, Greece, after defeating Mali in the Final.
Media professionals registered in the FIBA Media Portal will be able to apply for the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2021 as of Monday, May 24. The deadline to apply is Friday, June 25.
