NBA All-Star voting kicks off by AT&T Thursday, January 28

NEW YORK, United States of America, January 28, 2021 / – Vote for the NBA All-Stars on www.NBA.com, the NBA app and Twitter; Discussions are currently underway on hosting an NBA All-Star Game.  

Voting for the NBA All-Star 2021 presented by AT&T, the official 5G wireless network of the NBA kicked off this Thursday, January 28 at noon EST, and will end on Tuesday, February 16 at 11:59 p.m. ET. is. Fans will have the opportunity to vote for the NBA All-Star incumbents. Discussions are currently underway on hosting an NBA All-Star Game.

Throughout the voting period, fans can submit a full ballot each day through the NBA app and www.NBA.com, and vote for up to 10 unique players per day on Twitter. It will be possible to select all current NBA players. There will be five “2 for 1” days where fan votes will count double, on January 30, February 2, February 4, February 13 and February 16 through Twitter voting platforms, www.NBA.com and the NBA app. All “2 for 1” days will be from midnight eastern time to 11:59 p.m. eastern time.

NBA players and the media will join fans in selecting the NBA All-Star incumbents. Fans will represent 50% of the vote, while all current players and a media panel will each represent 25%. Players and the media will also be able to fill out a ballot, with three wingers and two fullbacks from the Eastern Conference and Western Conference.

Once all votes are tallied, players will be ranked in each conference by position (full backs and wingers) within each of the three voting groups – fan votes, player votes and media votes. Each player’s score will be calculated by averaging their weighted rank from fan votes, player votes, and media votes. The two full-backs and three wingers who score the highest in each conference will be named the NBA All-Star. Fan votes will be used to decide between players in a group of positions with the same score.

The NBA will be making two points on the fan vote on Thursday, February 4 and Thursday, February 11. TNT will reveal the season’s NBA All-Star holders on the evening of Thursday, February 18 during the TNT NBA Kickoff presented by CarMax. TNT will also announce the NBA All-Star substitutes, who will have been selected by the head coaches, on the evening of Thursday, February 23..

How fans can vote:

  • www.NBA.com on vote.NBA.com : Fill out one complete ballot per day (“per day” means once per 24 hours) on vote.NBA.com from a desktop browser or mobile. Fans can select up to two full-backs and three wingers from each conference when choosing the starters.
  • NBA app : Access the ballot and vote through the NBA app, available on Android and iOS. Fans can fill out one full ballot per day by selecting up to two full-backs and three wingers from each conference when choosing incumbents.
  • Twitter :Tweet, retweet, or reply with the hashtag of an NBA player’s first and last name (# FirstNameName) or their Twitter handle, as well as the hashtag #NBAAllStar. Each tweet can only include the name or nickname of one player. Fans can vote for 10 unique players per day, January 28 through February 16.
