The AS Police of Mali has overcome the Ivorian team of the ABC (Abidjan Basket Club) after a game indecisive until the end (78-77).
The defending Malian champion ran a long time after the score in a meeting close enough against the Ivorian champion. The AS Police has relaunched in the third quarter controlled time and won +4 (23-19). This allowed the Malian to return to a point of the Ivorians of the CBA at the end of the game (61-62).
The CBA stands out at the start of the 4th quarter time with a 5-0, mostly on a shoot at 3pts and a dunk of the very experienced Stephane Konaté. But worn by internationals Mamadou Keita and Ibrahima Cherif Haidara, AS Police can pass ahead with a lead of +6 to 20 seconds from the end of the game.
Bamory Christian Coulibaly, coach of the ABC takes a time out. At the resumption Stéphane Konaté brings back his team to (78-74) before planting a last prize-winning shoot in the last seconds of the game, unfortunately not enough to snatch an extension.
AS Police made it into the competition by pocketing the first group B match of the qualifying tournament for the African Basketball League (BAL).

Mamadou Keita and Ibrahim C Haidara (AS Police)
Mamadou Keita and Ibrahim C Haidara cummulated 44pts and 14rbd to weigh in the victory of the police. ABC side, the indestructible Stéphane Konaté who scored almost half of the points of his team (33pts, 7rbds and 4ast) could not prevent the defeat of the Ivorians.
